Codex - SEAOTTER

Prefer seaotter.dev/connect — it mints your key and copies the Codex install command for you.

Codex CLI (recommended)

Copy, paste into your terminal, press Enter:

codex mcp add seaotter \
  --env SEAOTTER_API_KEY=so_… \
  -- npx -y @ryanseaotter/mcp-server

This writes ~/.codex/config.toml, which is also used by ChatGPT desktop and the IDE extension. You’re done when SEAOTTER shows up as an MCP server. Then in chat:

Use the SEAOTTER MCP to onboard a Hermes agent named my-hermes, then talk to it.

Notes

Package on npm: @ryanseaotter/mcp-server (official SEAOTTER MCP).
Needs Node.js 20+ (npx on PATH).
